Loving Lipstick – Adelaide, Maree Stoubos
For a while now friends, magazines, bloggers, stylists etc have been saying lipsticks are here to stay and I must admit, I have been a bit hesitant to give them a go…
Having been a dancer my whole life, since the age of three I have had to wear full on stage makeup with bright red lipstick so the thought of lippy casually on the weekend didn’t quite sit right with me.
I always wear coloured lip glosses but they don’t really give you the same, permanent look. So on the weekend (out in Melbourne for a girl’s weekend away which was fabulous, by the way), I gave it a go and I think I rocked it quite well!
Going for a more subtle candy pink colour, it really brightened my look and added some colour to my normal olive skin complexion and dark brown hair. All my girlfriends said it suited me and I am excited to wear it again.
The best thing about a pop lip is that you can use it as an accessory! Team a bright, bold orange lipstick with a plain coloured dress and you will instantly look fresh and chic!
For good quality lipsticks that last and don’t flake, you can’t go past MAC and Napoleon. ButSportsgirl have some great ones too for a fraction of the price if you want to try the lipstick look first.
